Elmwood Pet has been around since 1947 at the same location (706 Elmwood Avenue), and we think it’s the oldest, still operating, shop in the country (at least, that we have found so far).

John Higgins and his brother Tom bought the shop 1986, making it the one-stop shop for pet owners in the Elmwood village of Buffalo, NY and surrounding suburbs. Tom volunteers at the Buffalo Animal Shelter almost every day and our store donates 200 smoked cow bones to the shelter every onth.
